Supreme Court issues notice to Centre, ECI on poll freebies

The Supreme Court has issued notice to the Centre and the Election Commission taking action on poll freebies promised by political parties before elections. The notice has sought a response from the poll body and the union government in four weeks.

Parliament to function in two shifts during budget session, Rajya Sabha to meet till 3 pm, Lok Sabha from 4-9 pm

Both houses of Parliament will function in two shifts during the upcoming budget session- the Rajya Sabha will function from 10 am to 3 pm and the Lok Sabha from 4 pm till 9 p.m.

At least two Parliament sessions in last two years have been held this way as part of the Covid protocol.
