Producer Manish Shah recently alleged that actor Kartik Aaryan had threatened to walk out of the upcoming film Shehzada unless the release of the Hindi version of the Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo (2020) was cancelled. Shehzada is the Hindi remake of the Allu Arjun-starrer.
The makers of Shehzada, T-Series, have now issued a clarification suggesting that the decision not to release Allu Arjun’s film was a production call and that Aaryan had nothing to do with it.
Shah, the promoter, director and chairman of Goldmines Telefilms, told the website IndiaToday.com, “The makers of Shehzada were not keen to release the Hindi version in cinemas. Also, Kartik Aaryan said if the movie were released in theatres, he would walk out of the film, which would have caused the producers a loss of Rs40 crore. It was extremely unprofessional of him.”
