Schools reopen for pre-primary and classes 1 to 12 in Maharashtra. The Covid worry reflects in a survey of school parents with 62% parents saying sending kids to school is risky. Schools had briefly reopened for a short while across Maharashtra before the third wave forced the govt to shut them again. It’s also the first time in 22 months that the state govt has permitted pre-schools to reopen. Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope said that the state has taken enough measures to ensure kids can return to school and the long lockdown was taking a toll on learning outcomes.
